Matsushita Moeco

Matsushita Moeko was born in 1982 in the Hyogo prefecture. When she was only 15 years old, she took her first steps into the spotlight when she won the “Japan bishojo contest,” a Japanese beauty contest in 1997. Although it was silent around her for a few years until she started a career as a singer, one could say that this was the beginning of it all. For her stage name, she changed the K in her first name to a C.

A few years later, when the young singer had reached the age of 18, she released her first single called Natsu Iro. Unfortunately, the single failed to reach the charts. Later that year, the singles Ame Agari and HELLO followed. Both became a slightly bigger success, Ame Agari ranked 50th on the Oricon Charts, and HELLO, which was used as the ending theme for a program on national television, crept into the 90th rank.

In 2002, she released another single, Sotsugyou, which was a cover of the song of the same name by Yuki Saito. After the release of this single, she took a break from her music career to focus on acting instead.

In 2003 she made a small come-back with the release of the DVD Moeco TV and another cover single, but it seems that this was truly the end of her music career.

Since then she has acted in a few television series, movies and was featured in a stage play. Unfortunately, it has been rather quiet around the young entertainer, not only for her music career but her acting career as well.

We are curious to see what steps Matsushita Moeco will take next in the entertainment industry. Perhaps she will continue her music career and we will see her singing again, only time will tell!
