It was announced today that wowaka, the vocalist and guitarist of rock band hitorie, passed away on April 5th due to acute heart failure. He was just 31 years old.

In a message on the band's official website, the members expressed their gratitude to all the fans that supported wowaka and hitorie until now. They stated that a funeral was held for close relatives only.

The band's nationwide tour will be suspended, and all of their upcoming event appearances will be canceled. It was stated that the remaining members currently do not know what will become of the band going forwards, but that they all intend to continue making music.

wowaka originally started his career in 2009 as a Vocaloid producer, and his work was highly acclaimed within the community. He started hitorie in 2012, and the band was a hit with both fans in Japan and overseas. They have provided themes for anime series such as "Divine Gate" and "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations", and they had just released a new album titled HOWLS in February.

A multi-talented artist with a unique style that was beloved by both rock and Vocaloid fans, he will be sorely missed.
