SHOW-YA were Japan's first all-woman hard rock band to achieve mainstream success. The band's career spans more than thirty years, and with the exception of a hiatus from 1998 to 2005, they've been active relentlessly throughout.
SHOW-YA have been trailblazers for numerous other all-female rock acts. In 1987, they organized the first NAON no YAON, a music event exclusively for female artists and bands. They have also made an impact internationally, as in June 1991 they were invited by the North Korean government to play at the two-day event LOVE & ROCK'N ROLL in NORTH KOREA.
