Yellow Studs is a Japanese rock band drawing influence from genres such as jazz, rockabilly and garage punk to form a sound that is somehow both fresh and nostalgic. The band is especially notable for the hoarse, emotional vocals of Taichi Nomura, which often draw comparisons to Yusuke Chiba of The Birthday.
While they have been active for over fifteen years, the members still place a strong focus on connecting with their fans, holding a one hour stream each week where they answer questions and update viewers on their activities. They also occasionally perform as an acoustic band called Yellow Studs Acoustic Band (formerly known as Team GARAKUTA), which has a softer, more folk-influenced sound and allows the members to show off their skills on instruments like the accordion and banjo.
