Japan's first ever African-American enka singer Jero will perform two shows in California this March.

The first show is in San Francisco on March 28th at the Japanese Cultural and Community Center of Northern California. The second date is in Los Angeles on March 31st, at the Japanese American Cultural & Community Center.

Jero, born and raised in Philidelphia, Pennsylvania, began listening to and singing enka at a young age to please his Japanese grandmother. After attending university, he moved to Japan in hope of becoming an enka singer. After taking part in competitions he caught the eye of the label Victor Entertainment and eventually released his first single Umiyuki in the beginning of 2008.
