Duo
AMOYAMO has already gained popularity. Both
AMO and
AYAMO appear in KERA and Zipper regularly as models. Debuting in August 2012, the girls’ debut single marks only just the beginning of what could be a fruitful music career.
Bubbly and undeniably cute,
LET’S GO OUT shows best what
AMOYAMO can provide musically. In the track
LET’S GO OUT, the two sing together and alternate between each other every couple of lines. The bright melody and steady beat makes for a strong title track, but there is a hint of
Tommy in the track. Also,
LET’S GO OUT was used as the first opening in "Gintama’ : Enchousen".
OMG!! relaxes slightly, with a rap-like beat and fun lyrics. With such a silly song title, it’s almost expected that the track matches the tone of the song—and it does—with a playful, electric bubblegum-pop melody.
Seeing as
AMOYAMO is produced by
Tomoko Kawase of
Tommy february6 /
Tommy heavenly6 and
the brilliant green, a cover of one her songs was almost expected. Included only on the limited edition of
LET’S GO OUT,
AMOYAMO performs a fun electro synth-pop version of
Pray that was originally by
Tommy heavenly6. A fun fact: the original version of
Pray was also used in the first run of "Gintama".
The PV for
LET’S GO OUT is just as cute, with
AMOYAMO driving around an animated town that is actually a pop-up book. The two then watch miniatures versions of themselves perform a concert. Of course, the duo is very fashionable, wearing items both are most recognized for: pastel coloured hair with the girls’ iconic curled side fringe and tattoo tights!
LET’S GO OUT ranked well on the Oricon single charts, having debuted at 23rd place during its initial run. Having a tie-in with the "Gintama" franchise has been a vehicle that helped
AMOYAMO to garner a wider audience.
If you are in Japan, a short version of the official PV can be seen via
Sony’s YouTube Channel, but for everyone else in the world,
Dailymotion is the next best option.
