Fatima

Fatima was formed in April 1998 by four ex-Le'Cheri members Hitomi (vocals), Mizuha (guitar), Lay (bass) and Daisuke (drums). That December they released their first maxi-single, Downer, and played their first live at the CYBER club in Tokyo.

In June 1999, after a gig played at that same venue, Daisuke decided to quit the band and three months later joined Kagerou as their vocalist. Left with no drummer, Fatima suspended their activity for almost a year.

On August 6th, 2000 Fatima returned with a new drummer, Nao and Hitomi had changed his name to Sanaka. Moreover, the band had hired a second guitarist, Zen. On August 9th, in ON AIR WEST, Fatima gave their first live after almost a year of silence.

Already in September, before they even released their next single, Zen left the band and, following Daisuke's example, became the vocalist of the newly created, Vanilla. Fatima hired a new guitarist, 4ge (pronounced Shige).

2002 witnessed the release of their next single, Mr:I-44. During that time Fatima performed many lives and appeared in various magazines. On October 27th, that same year, their second drummer left and the band hired their third drummer, Towa.

After their second single in 2002, it was almost a full year before they released their next single the following year in March. About that same time, Fatima played a few two-man shows with Vanilla and in May the two bands released a collaboration maxi-single.

Just a few days before starting a concert series on November 14th, 2003, Sanaka was hospitalized after an attack of a serious lung disease. The fears were for the worst, but it wasn't more than a few weeks and thankfully, Sanaka was up on his feet and out of the hospital again and already in late December the band played a special Christmas gig.

March 2004 the band released their next maxi-single, Shizumu Taion. Even though this was only their seventh release in Fatima's six years (excluding the CD released with Vanilla or omnibuses), the band was doing quite well, performing at lives and appearing in music magazines. Actually, the boys from Fatima seemed to have plenty of spare energy. Lay had his share in Bluck Tlick - a project consisting also of Tatsuro (MUCC), Aie (deadman), Yuu (Merry) and Tsuyoshi (Karimero). Mizuha was involved in a similar side project. At the same time, Fatima had an "alter-ego band" - all of its members, under different names however, played in a group called Downer.

At the end of 2004, Fatima released two more singles, one being a 'one coin CD' Tsumugi Ito, which sold for 500 yen during three lives with a different cover at each venue. At the beginning of 2005, Sanaka changed his name once again, becoming Kanoma on January 1st.

Their long expected first, and at the same time, their last mini-album titled Exit was released on April 27th. During a live on his birthday on March 31st, Kanoma announced that Fatima would be breaking up. The band went on their last tour, [to Exit], in June and the grand finale was held at Shibuya O-East on June 26th. A DVD containing a recording of that performance, an unbelievable number of 24 songs plus behind the stage extras, came out in December and it was the last released signed with the name Fatima.

After Fatima:

After the disbandment, both Kanoma and Towa took part in various concerts and events and they also had a session band which played covers of Disney movie themes. Kanoma also participated in talk events organized by former band mate Zen. In the meantime, Towa supported ayabie for a short time.

End 2007, Kanoma changed his name back to Hitomi, Towa became Soan and they started the band Moran. Also 4ge and Lay stayed together and changed their names. In 2007 they formed together with a vocalist the band obscure.

Unfortunately, there is no news concerning the activity of Mizuha.
