FAIRY FORE

FAIRY FORE

FAIRY FORE started as the band Fir~reforle in 1994. Their line-up was the following: Takashi (using the nickname Rei in this period) on vocals, Yasu on bass, and Yoko on drums. Guitarist Yuhki was also part of the band in these early years. The band remained pretty much unknown for the next few years. They performed a lot in the indies scene and released a handful of demo-tapes, but they couldn't managed to get noticed.

In 1998, Yuhki left the band and was replaced by Akihide in 1999. They managed to get a few songs on the compilation album Cross*D Lovers. This seemed to be the point where they finally drew some attention to themselves, and in 2000 they changed their name to FAIRY FORE.

They managed to get a deal with Sweet Child records (also the label of bands like PIERROT, Plastic Tree, Psycho le Cemu and so on) and released their first mini-album LOOP in October 2000.

After that, they became a part of the major label Avex, which used a new technique to promote them: the title track of their first major single Love Sick was used as the opening theme to an anime. The next single was used for the ending theme of "Final Fantasy Unlimited". This method was pretty effective as they were able to reach out to more people in this way.

Another few singles followed, and their first album, Heaven's market, in the summer of 2002. In 2003, after two large national tours, the band was met with some misfortune as Akihide decided to leave the band in September.

They worked together with various supporting guitarists until Eiji became their new official guitarist in 2004, and the band toured a lot. One of the results of this tour was their very first DVD, called Spice Shower, which contained live footage from their concert at the Shibuya O-crest. In July they released their latest single called Sentimental case, and shortly after, Eiji announced he was leaving the band.

The remaining three members remained together, doing infrequent concerts and in May 2005 they released their third album: Kono hana ga karerumade.

Unfortunately, after a career of eleven years, the band decided to disband. They had a small, last tour in the months November and December which was called Thank you for your million smile and disbanded after the final concert on December 11th, which was an one-man concert.
