839 was founded in December 2002 by the following members: Kengo on vocals, MAYU on guitar, and Aki on bass.

They had their first two concerts in March 2003 and, in June, Tomoya joined the band as drummer. They released their first single in September called Yumebana, which was distributed for free. A few days later they released their first maxi-single 0Game, which was sold for exactly 839 yen. There were only 500 copies released. In November, they started to tour and participated in various events.

Unfortunately the band disbanded; their last concert was on December 12, 2003 in the Takedanobaba Area.

Most of the members disappeared from the music scene. Tomoya was the support drummer of Ayabie for some time but he didn't stay long with them either. Aki reappeared a few years later though, as a member of the band CHERRY NADE169.
