alu:cana was formed in August 2001 by Kaname (bassist) and Karasu (guitarist). Ran, the vocalist of the band joined later in January 2002.

In May 2002, they started their first tour. After this, more concerts followed in August and October. In October they also released their very first demo-tape called Moonscape.

2003 started, and this year seemed to be a good year for the band, starting off with the release of their first maxi-single Maboroshi tou uta. In May they started on a tour called ReBirth which was in order to promote the maxi-single of the same name that was released around that time. In the following months, the band performed a lot and participated in an compilation CD.

After this, Shu, the former bassist of the band Zekuu joined them, but instead of playing bass like in his former band, he took the position as the second guitarist. Together with him they released the single Ray in December. Later Karasu left the band.

The year 2004 was full of performances for alu:cana. They also released their next maxi-single, Neo Natiz on July 26th. The next year followed in the same fashion and the band also released two new singles, the most recent one of them being Metemliz Future.

Unfortunately, in 2006 the band disbanded after their concert at the Himeji Beta on August 31st.
