The two members of Cross Cradle, Say (vocals) and Akito (drums), started making plans for a band in 2001, and in September of the same year, they formed Cross Cradle. They claimed to have started to make music in order to find the answer to the question "What is life for, why do we exist?" and wanted to innovate visual kei in its entirety, to create a new music style.

The band was quiet for over a year, but in January 2003 they suddenly became active. On January 15 they released a demo, which was distributed for free. Later that year, they released their first mini-album, Ko Do U.

The following year brought the release of a single and their first video. In 2005, they released their second mini-album Tai On. Except for some occasional live shows, it grew quiet around the duo.

In April 2008, a change was made in the line-up as the contrabass and electric upright bass player -Nalu- joined the band, changing their concept as well. The new addition to the line-up seemed to have a positive effect on Cross Cradle as they released two singles in December 2008, their first releases in three years.

The trio is currently continuing their career in the same fashion with occasional live shows but taking a different direction music-wise by including more real instruments as opposed to electronic music only. Cross Cradle has already been around for quite a few years, so we’re curious to see how they will develop themselves further.
