Analogfish was started in 1999 by classmates Kentarou Sasaki and Akira Shimooka and their first demotape was recorded in 1999.

In the following years, they relocated to Tokyo from their hometown in the Nagano prefecture and, in 2001, started their live activities with the help of a support drummer. In April 2002, Saito joined the band as their drummer and sang chorus as well, increasing their vocal harmonies. A few months later, they released a nine track record that was sold during their concerts.

In June 2003, Analogfish released their first album, Sekai wa maboroshi, which was followed by a tour to promote it. Soon after followed the mini-album, Nichiyoubi no Yoru mitai da.

Their activities picked up in 2004. In January they toured in Japan and in June the reprints of their first two albums, plus a new one with the title Analogfish, were released. From July to August they held another promotional tour and took part in the well-known FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL. In September Analogfish became major and released their first major mini-album, Hello Hello Hello. A nationwide tour to promote the mini-album took place from September to December.

They did not stay idle after that and 2005 followed in pretty much the same fashion, with the release of another mini-album and their first single, Speed. As iff that wasn't enough, another full album, KISS, was released in September 2005. Next to touring across the country, they also increased their participation in bigger rock events in Japan, including the FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL and ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL.

2006 brought the release of three singles, the album ROCK IS HARMONY and more performances, including one-mans, coupling tours with other bands and more performances at festivals. The following year was also filled with even more performances, but no releases.

In March 2008, it was announced that Saito would be leaving the band due to health issues. Sasaki and Shimooka continued together and finally released a new album, Fish My Life, in summer 2008.

Currently, the duo is performing often. This year will be their tenth anniversary and we look forward to seeing what Analogfish will offer us next!
