New Starting Over

New Starting Over was founded in 2002 in Osaka by Doige (Takeharu Doi), Eiki (Eiki Matsui), Shun (Shunsuke Sasamura), and Peki (Takayuki Kitamura). It didn't take them very long to build a solid reputation seeing as their live performances around Osaka were very popular. The quartet also discovered that the internet was an excellent platform for self-promotion, by using pages such as Audioleaf, MySpace, and PureVolume to spread their music farther.

Despite strong fan feedback, it took an additional two years until they released their first mini album on March 3, 2004. Until its release, they only had appeared on an omnibus album titled Seriously Funny, Funnily Serious!!!, on which fellow artists of the screamo and punk genres like Dom Dom Fire, NO★GAIN and GOOD 4 NOTHING participated as well. One year (and another sampler appearance) later, they published their first full-length album entitled "Story Ending." Right after this ten-track album, they appeared at the famous "Independence-D" event where bands from many different genres took part. Notable guests were BALZAC, MUCC and LOUDNESS to name a few.

The band announced a national tour for the summer of 2006, and fans anticipated the chance to see them live, curious to see what they were capable of.

Despite the popularity of the band during their early years, they seemed to have suddenly disappeared with the exception of a few performances every now and then. Their MySpace has low activity, their official website is gone, and no one seems to know what happened to them. Creating music in such a genre has such potential for New Starting Over to make an international name for themselves. Maybe, they will eventually return to the music scene.
