A guitar-strumming girl wonder, Nana Kitade, represents a new breed of female rock stars, equally admired for her musical ability and unique fashion sense. As a child, Nana Kitade was determined to be a singer, devoting herself to the piano at age 3, writing lyrics at 12 and picking up the guitar by her 14th birthday. Upon graduating junior high, her passion for singing took her from her Northern hometown of Sapporo to Tokyo, the music capital of Japan, where she could fully pursue her dream.

Her lucky break came in 2002 when she was discovered at an audition for Sony Music. In October of the following year, she made her sensational debut with the single Indelible Sin -Kesenai Tsumi, chosen as the ending theme song for popular TV anime series Fullmetal Alchemist. With her songs popping up in numerous TV dramas, animation and video games, Nana was able to reach new audiences and score four top-selling singles. Finally in August 2005, she released her highly anticipated first album, 18-eighteen-. The release coincided with news of Nana's first official concert, prompting eager fans to flood with ticket requests.

As a teenager transitioning from girl to woman, Nana boasts a natural ability to put her inner conflicts and experiences into powerful music and lyrics. Combined with her incredible stage presence, it's almost impossible not to take notice of Nana. But that's not all she has to offer! Famous for her signature Gothic Lolita look, she has become a fashion icon for teenage girls. Her face adorns the covers of countless fashion magazines and the streets of Harajuku overflow with Nana wannabes dressed in her elaborate style of corsets, ruffles, and lace.

Putting her sense of style to good use, Nana has worked on styling the outfits that she wore for the artwork of 18-eighteen- and her latest single SLAVE of KISS. In November 2005, Nana's 4th single and 18-eighteen-'s album track pureness were released stateside on the Jpop CD2 compilation, alerting J-pop fans in the USA to the universal appeal of Nana Kitade.

Six months later her single Indelible Sin also found its way to the USA, this time as part of the FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST COMPLETE BEST compilation. With her talent, charm, and eye-catching style, Nana's bright future is undeniable. When asked about her hopes for the future, she answers: "I want to become the kind of artist who can drive the emotions of my listeners, even electrify some of them."

This talented young musician has already had two appearances; one in the USA and the other in France. For both conventions, Nana was invited as one of the fashion and musical guests.
