Following his exit from Ayabie, Ryohei was quick to form Megamasso. As guitarist and composer, he was joined by Inzargi (vocals), Gou (bass) and Yuuta (drums) to form a young, fresh oshare band under the indie label NXSIE Records.

Because of Ryohei's hyperactive composition skills, Megamasso was able to promote themselves and their first mini-album, Namida Neko, released on December 6, 2006. It was first sold through Like an Edison shops in Osaka, Tokyo and Nagoya and then at the band's first live on December 16th at Shibuya O-East. Later, the songs from this release were included on Megamasso's second mini-album, Kai no Me Tou no Zokuryou. To celebrate the end of December and the start of a new year, they also participated in the stylish wave COUNTDOWN '06-'07 concert.

That first live show was filmed and released on a DVD titled Mega-star Tokyo on February 21, 2007. The DVD also included a CD with a sample from the band's first full-length album, Yuki Shitatari Hoshi, which hit store shelves on March 21st.

In June Yuuta decided to leave the band citing differences in the way he wanted to go musically and the direction that Megamasso was moving in. The band has yet to bring a new drummer on board.

July saw the release of a PV collection DVD, followed by LIPS, another single, in August. Then in October, only roughly seven months after the release of their first album, Megamasso was ready with a new full-length album, Matataku Yoru. Later in the month, they performed at the FM NACK5 19th Anniversary ~ Nignteen's Map Halloween Party and have kept busy with many other concerts and events throughout their short existence thus far.

With rapid release and performance schedules, Megamasso is definitely a band on the move and on the rise. The members of this unique and talented band have created their own experimental style of music and are set to make their mark on the industry. A new band with a fresh sound, Megamasso is sure to have even more to offer their ever-growing fan base and the Japanese music scene. Just keep an eye on this exceptional group of artists.
