GHOST was created around February 2004 with the original line-up consisting of Kousei (ex.Kress Devia) on vocals, Hisui (ex.Cryella) and Syo~ji on guitars and Rin (ex.Lilith+Noir and DEViL KiTTY) on drums. In May 2004, the bassist ZERO (ex. Kar'MariA and Girotin) joined the band, and thus the line up was complete. The band officially began activities on December 15th, when they debuted live at Takadanobaba AREA. On the same day, they released their first single higyaku no shiro, which presented a surprisingly mature sound for a band who had only just started. The rest of the month, the continued to perform live around Tokyo.

2005 began with more events, and the band often returned to the livehouse their debut took place at. On May 10th, they participated in an event with Calmando Qual, SIN and Gimikku, also releasing their second single, kousouku no kan, the same day.

Shortly after spring, Syo~ji and Rin left the band. Fortunately new members were found rather quickly - in July they were joined by the drummer Yu (ex.Delta Ark), and in August by the guitarist Yura (ex.DEVIL KITTY). Sadly, after only 3 months, Yu decided to leave the band on November 31st. For the following half a year, GHOST continued to play without an official drummer. Despite his departure, the remaining members didn't seem discouraged, and on December 15th they performed their first one man live at Takadanobaba AREA, which was called Theater of Haunted Carnival. Less than a week later, their first mini-album entitled Bi-zarre Collector was released.

2006 saw the release of a new single, For Dear, that debuted on May 10th. It brought a novelty into their discography because the CD came with a DVD featuring their first video clip. A few days earlier, they played their second one man live, during which the band's new drummer, Kisara, was presented to the fans for the first time. Little by little, the band's popularity continued to grow, and before the end of the year they played another one man. On December 20th, GHOST finally released their first full album, tsumi to batsu.

2007 started was much quieter for GHOST, but in February, the band released their first PV DVD and began to pick up their live schedule in March, touring heavily through the spring and summer, with three onemans. In late August, the band released two new singles, and with the flurry of new activity, fans assumed a fall tour. However, these hopes were crushed when GHOST announced their sudden intentions to disband, and after participating in four events through the fall, the band held their final live, Theater of Haunted Carnival FINAL on December 6, 2007. The show was held at the same place as their birth: Takadanobaba AREA. One week later, GHOST released a "best of" sixteeen track CD for their fans.

There has been no word on the new activities of the members of GHOST except for Hisui, who has moved on to as.milk.
