NEGA was born as a duo project in December 2004 by bassist Ray who was previously from Aliene Ma'riage and Vinett and vocalist Jin. The band's first release was the demo Yoru ni Aru Kibou, Asa ni Kuru Zetsubou. Shortly after, drummer Yuu joined the band and after participating in an omnibus CD, they released their first mini album THE Faded Film of a Japanese Sadness.

Using support members from their birth, the band did not obtain an official guitarist until Hiroki joined in March of 2006. Later that year, SAN joined as the second guitarist, completing the line-up. Soon after, the band began extensive touring. They participated in a coupling tour with Cannival Method and sold a collaborative CD at live events.

As NEGA grew more popular within the indie scene, they were soon noticed by record labels and were picked up by UNDER CODE PRODUCTION in December. NEGA kicked off 2007 with a series of live activities and two new singles.

By April, the band released the double mini albums dole and hole. Although the band was on their way up, they suffered a loss when Hiroki left in June. Despite this, NEGA did not let this hurt their production and by summer, saw the debut of three new singles. In October of the same year, they performed at C.C. Lemon Hall and wrapped up the year performing on various artists coupling albums.

By 2008, NEGA was well known within the indie scene and started the year with a flurry of lives in January along with the release of ЯeBirtH Under the Chaos. In March, they performed at KISAKI's birthday event. By summer, the group saw another single hit store shelves and performed at the Phantasmagoria tribute live at Shibuya O-West and again at a Phantasmagoria event at Shibuya AX days later.

Starting off 2009 with more concerts, NEGA spent some time in the recording studio between their spring lives, releasing two singles. By July, the band celebrated the debut of their first album, GRAVE OF THE SACRIFICE and continued to promote the release during concerts in the fall.

While 2010 started off as a good year for NEGA between concerts and their second full album Negativism in May, the band announced in July they would go on an indefinite hiatus by September. Despite this upsetting announcement, NEGA surprised fans by performing at the Under Code Production Countdown Event in Osaka on December 31st.

Since their break, SAN appeared in a session band in late December during an Under Code event and wrote in his blog that the break was truly temporary and fans should await NEGA's return.

Keeping true to their word, NEGA re-emerged to the scene in 2011. By early spring, the band had hit the recording studio and was preparing for their return. In May, they made several exciting announcements. First, they are releasing a new three type maxi single, FABLE IN THE COLD BED on July 6th. Additionally, the band will hold their revival concert on July 26 at Shibuya O-West and will be simultaneously celebrating their sixth anniversary at the same time.

Next month, NEGA has plans to participate in UNITED LINK for JAPAN VOL:2, a live sponsored by UNDER CODE PRODUCTION for Japan's earthquake crisis of March.

It has been announced that in September, NEGA will be heading overseas to perform a number of concerts in France, the Netherlands and Germany. Fans looking to attend these shows should keep an eye out for more information coming soon!
