After PIERROT split up, ex-members Jun and Aiji devoted themselves to solo projects (Kirito having been involved in a solo project of his own previously). Around this time, Kirito, KOHTA, and TAKEA appeared to be dissatisfied with the events surrounding PIERROT's disbandment and, rather logically, decided to give birth to a new group together. This band was Angelo.

The new band first performed a free live in Shibuya, which was soon followed by the announcement of a single and dates for an upcoming tour. Their appropriately named first single REBORN was released on the 8th of November.

The band fell quiet for a number of months and fans had to wait until the 28th of February to be able to listen to two more songs. The second single, WINTER MOON, was comparable to the first with its harsh guitar play, a certain feeling of despair in the melody and the slightly hoarse voice of Kirito. Soon afterwards, a summer tour was announced and at last their debut album REBIRTH OF THE NEWBORN BABY was released in April 2007. Later that year, in December, they released the mini-album THE FREAK SHOW.

The band had been fairly active since that time, putting out two singles and a mini-album in 2008. In 2008, they also had the opportunity to perform at the legendary Nippon Budokan. In April 2009 they released their second album, METALLIC BUTTERFLY. The band continued to release singles throughout the rest of the year, and were frequently touring Japan. Angelo also participated in the V-ROCK FESTIVAL on October 24. They ended the year with their COUNT DOWN SHOW CASE "REWRITING" concert.

Angelo launched into 2010 with their SEARCH THE LIGHTWAVE tour; and in the midst of their six show tour their single Hikari no kioku came out. Later that year, another single and the album Design were released. The band also performed single lives and toured throughout Japan. In promotion of their album, they held twelve lives from September to October.

Angelo's activities in the first half of 2011 can be described as relatively quiet. Not until the summer time did the band surprise their fans with some new developments. The two guitarists Karyu (ex-D'espairsRay) and Giru (ex-Vidoll) joined the band on August 28 and completed the line up. Moreover, the new album BABEL was announced for the beginning of October. To celebrate and seal all these changes, Angelo embarked on a longer, nationwide tour of Japan that spanned from November 20 to February 5, 2012.

It will surely be interesting to see how Angelo will evolve in the near future.
