Originally a solo project for Takanori Nishikawa, abingdon boys school appeared out of the blue, the band's first song, stay away, included on the March 2005 Love for NANA ~Only 1 Tribute~ album. The song was very different in style than those Takanori usually sings as T.M.Revolution, songs composed by Daisuke Asakura. Being included on the image album for the NANA anime series, the band's song was amongst other famous pop-rock acts such as SEX MACHINEGUNS, TETSU69 and tommy heavenly6.
A few months later, abingdon boys school recorded a cover of BUCK-TICK's song Dress, with a new rock sound. The song was included on PARADE ~RESPECTIVE TRACKS OF BUCK-TICK, a tribute album that also contained BUCK-TICK covers by other artists.
At the same time, Hiroshi Shibasaki, SUNAO and Toshiyaki Kishi participated in the production of several tracks off of UNDER:COVER, T.M.Revolution's self-cover album, which came out on January 1, 2006. These tracks incorporate abingdon boys school's style into T.M.Revolution favorites.
In September of 2006, Sony Music announced the band's official debut. Their first single, INNOCENT SORROW, came out on December 6th and was used as the opening theme for the "D.Gray-man" anime series. The single climbed to number four on the Oricon charts. In addition, INNOCENT SORROW was coupled with Fre@K $HoW, a heavier song with English lyrics, which was included on the image album for the "Death Note" movie.
The band released their second single, HOWLING, in May, the title track being used as the opening for an anime called "DARKER THAN BLACK -kuro no keiyakusha-." They followed HOWLING with another single, Nephilim, in July. This song served as the opening for the Play Station 3 game "FolksSoul - Ushinawareta Densho."
abingondon boys school, the band's first album, was released on October 10th, followed by yet another single in December. The single, BLADE CHORD, was another tie-in for the band, featured as a theme for the "SENGOKU BASARA 2 Eiyû Gaiden - HEROES" game.
December also saw the band's inclusion on the LUNA SEA MEMORIAL COVER ALBUM -Re:birth-, with their own take of Sweetest Coma Again.
Though the band has yet to release any new music in 2008, abingdon boys school did release their first DVD on July 16th. abingdon boys school JAPAN TOUR 2008 featured the band's February 29th performance at Zepp Tokyo.
Just prior to the release, Takanori made his comeback as T.M.Revolution with a new single, and abingdon boys school has kept busy with various live performances. Among those performances was the MATCH UP '08 -SUMMER SERIES-, which saw them sharing the stage with artists such as HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR, Merry, alice nine. and others, and the 175R vs abingdon boys school live at Shibuya-AX.
No news about any future releases or upcoming tours has been announced, but abingdon boys school should certainly have more in store for their many adoring fans.
