Shortly after graduating from Tokyo Keizai University, Suga Shikao spent four years as a salaryman for an advertising company. In 1997 Shikao made his debut with the song Hit Chart wo Kakenukero. Since Shikao's debut he has created song after song for various anime shows such as "Boogiepop Phantom" and "xxxHolic," and has also created the insert song Manatsu no Yoru no Yume for the "Death Note" live action movie.

He has collaborated with Chitose Hajime, Masayoshi Yamazaki, Kyoko, COIL, Araki Yuko, and Sukima Switch to create Fukumimi, a band formed by the record label Office Augusta. Suga Shikao has also been the brainchild behind lyrics to famous music artists' songs: credited to him are the lyrics and music composition for Kyoko's Happy Birthday; lyrics, music and arrangement for SMAP's Koko ni iru koto; and lyrics to SMAP's Yozora no mukō. Shikao has also done the music and arrangement for Chisato Moritaka's Tanpopo no Tane and the lyrics to Mahiru no Hoshi. Shikao also wrote the lyrics for famous Johnny's group KAT-TUN's Real Face, as well as music and lyrics for Arashi's Aozora Pedal.

Shikao has also hosted his own radio show called "J-Wave". From 1997-2007 he has released a total of 22 singles, one mini album and seven albums. His most recent work is his May 14, 2008 single release entitled Nobody Knows which is used for the anime "xxxHOLiC: Kei."

Suga Shikao is a veteran among Japanese musicians, being a singer and songwriter, collaborating with many famous artists and creating moving melodies and lyrics, many of which are featured in many anime series. He has proved that his age is no limit for continuing to create great music that fans will truly appreciate. We'll look forward to seeing more of Suga Shikao's talent for many years to come!
