Metis Gretel

In October 2004, Metis Gretel was formed by guitarist Rukia and drummer Kuzuki. The members already had some experience playing in bands and playing with each other: vocalist Sui and Kuzuki had both been members of Ghost†phobia, while bassist Setsuna and guitarist Mizarii (who both joined in November 2005) were in Яisk un logic.

Their first year was spent doing live performances throughout Tokyo. Towards the end of 2005 the band held the event act BLOOD SHOW CASE~X'mas Special~ to celebrate their one year anniversary. They only began to to gain recognition in 2006.

On May 5th 2006 their first maxi-single, Scream Guiltily went on sale, which the band promoted during their tour Terror of masque. To celebrate the release of their two Fairy Tale maxi-singles, Metis Gretel sponsored a two-night event called Fairy Tale Memoir.

In November 2007 they put out another two-type release, the mini-album Subliminal Dissection, which was accompanied by their second one-man live at HOLIDAY SHINJUKU. In February of the following year, they released a greatest hits album, The Scene of Transmigration, about a month before their disbandment.

Metis Gretel disbanded after their third and final one-man live, Dramatic Cult~last night continued~, which took place on March 3, 2008, also at HOLIDAY SHINJUKU. For the three years that the group was active, the band was able to produce an impressive discography of work that beautifully blends the fanciful and heavy elements of gothic music, and they gave some dynamic and heartfelt lives their fans will be sure to remember.
