CODE

CODE was started in September 2004, attracting immediate interest due to their distinguished line-up. Besides the guitarist HIRO and bassist Naoya, the members included the former wyse drummer Roa Kenji, who had now changed his role to vocals, and guitarist TOMO, whose band ElDorado had disbanded just over a month before. All of the members have their roots in visual kei, yet CODE built their foundation on a more mainstream look and modern sound drawing influences from nu metal.

The mini album hallerujah had been scheduled to come out in November 2004, but after the band was confronted with various problems, the release was postponed again and again, drawing the activity of the line-up down to zero. In the end the record was never released and many feared the band would be ready to give up, but that wasn't the case.

After a year CODE had rejuvenated enough to continue touring together with their new bassist masashi, until finally in 2006 they managed to release their planned material on 2 maxi singles, ebony and ivory, which complimented each other by continuing the same theme. In the same year the act also managed to attract wider attention, as their song Neo Under World made an appearance in Graceful Playboys, an omnibus album by Kamijo's Sherow Artist Society. As for other interesting connections it should be mentioned that CODE performed often with GLAMOROUS HONEY, the new band of the ex.ElDorado vocalist UK, who even appeared on CODE's recordings in the role of guest backing vocals.

In December 2007 however the band announced their disbanding, which occurred rather quickly. CODE's last release was a mini album that included a DVD, which they named hallerujah as if to give the story its final ending. The release came out December 20th and the final concert, Last Stage, entered the pages of history on January 19th 2008 at Holiday Shinjuku.
