Although HINOI team debuted in 2005, its members' careers started in 2002. At around the age of eleven, Asuka Hinoi and Hikaru Koyama debuted as LOVE & PEACE along with a third member, Miho Hiroshige. The three girls were discovered at an audition for the movie "Dodge Go! Go!" The girls only played minor roles in the film, but their first single, DRIFTER, was selected as the movie's theme song.
The group disbanded after their one and only single and Asuka's talents were spotted by Tomoko Kawase (aka Tommy february6). She produced Asuka's first solo single, Wanna be your girlfriend, and the single was released under the Sonic Groove label, a sub-label of avex trax. The title song was used as the ending theme song for the drama series "Ashita Tenki ni Naare." The single didn't do very well and only reached 60th on the Oricon charts, but her debut wasn't unsuccessful, as she received much attention from the public. Asuka continued her career with the release of her second single, Tatta Hitori no Kimi, in 2004 and she appeared on numerous television shows. Sadly, her second single was even less successful and her solo career was put on hold.
At the end of 2004 it was announced that there would be a new group called HINOI team with Asuka as its leading member. The group's members were chosen through auditions held at the dance and vocal school Caless. Three girls; Asuka's old band mate Hikaru, Keika Matsuoka and Mizuki Inoue were chosen to debut with Asuka. However, at the last minute, Mizuki was replaced by Rina Takenaka.
The group's debut was set for February 2005, but was postponed and the girls finally debuted in May with their first single, IKE IKE. Two months later their second single, KING KONG, was released, signaling the beginning of the group's collaboration with comedian/wrestler Korikki Choshu. KING KONG included a new version of IKE IKE, which featured Korikki and was an immediate hit.
Korikki also collaborated on the group's third single, NIGHT OF FIRE/PLAY WITH THE NUMBERS. The single was even more successful and, with Korikki's support, HINOI team released their fourth single, STICKY TRICKY AND BAND, at the beginning of 2006. Just six days later their first full album, SUPER EURO PARTY, was released and Korikki was, once again, credited. The CD+DVD version contained sixteen tracks and thirteen videos, which included music videos as well as parapara videos and off-shot material. The album was successful and did well on the Oricon charts.
The frenzy caused by the successful album didn't last for long. Soon after the album's release, Korikki announced that his time with HINOI team was ending and a graduation ceremony concert was held. Five months later HINOI team released their fifth single, NOW AND FOREVER.
The year 2007 seems to have been the end of the road for HINOI team. After releasing their sixth single, Dancin' & Dreamin', the group fell apart and has remained inactive since then. Asuka continued her solo career with the release of her third single in May 2007. She hasn't released anything else, but has been modeling for different magazines and, in 2008, she contributed a song, Suiren, to a compilation album. The rest of the members have not been active in the music scene.
