Lolita∞Complex otherwise known as singer Tocco and Junne who is responsible for the beats and keyboard formed in 1999. Before they met, Tocco was devoted to drawing and writing poems, but after meeting Junne she discovered her voice. After one year of intensive work they released their first album in December, simply entitled Lolita∞Complex. Its international orientation was clear since Lolita∞Complex featured contributions from artists such as Dave Gregory (XTC), Kate St. John (The Dream Academy) and Louis Philippe Families. Furthermore Masami Tsuchiya a well-known Japanese guitarist supported the duo.

For their debut album Lolita∞Complex combined classical works (for example Bach's music) with modern pop music and created an atmospheric piece of art. Music and voice resulted in electronic pop music that was reminiscent of the UK's chill out club scene, not a surprise at all since Tony Cousins (who also worked with Robbie Williams, George Michael, Richard Ashcroft, Elton John and many more) mastered Lolita∞Complex's music.

If you ask Lolita∞Complex about their influences, Junne would give you a short answer: Electro from the 80's! Tocco has different ideas, and as an artist and author she admires the Japanese actor and chanson singer Akihiro Miwa. She also is inspired by the author Shuji Terayama and the poet Chuya Nakahara. Aside from these Japanese artists Tocco adores Egon Schiele who was an expressionistic painter and co-founder of the Wiener Moderne. Tocco considers herself a pop singer who happens also to be a painter and poet. Furthermore she works as a model for the famous Japanese fashion label "Baby, the Stars Shine Bright".

For their album The Forest of Montmartre, Lolita∞Complex covered well-known songs from international artists including Smells like Teen Spirit by Nirvana, Little Susie by Michael Jackson and I'm not scared by the Pet Shop Boys.

Lolita∞Complex will surely continue to strike a new path inside the Japanese music scene by producing modern pop music that keeps up with international standards.
