The original characters of HANGRY&ANGRY were illustrated by GASHICON. The two characters HANGRY and ANGRY were drawn in the "gurokawa" (grotesque/cute) style and this transitions to real life in the musical unit. According to their story, the two characters travelled from their home in the H44 Star Nebula in their "LOVE MACHINE" time-travel device on a mission to save present-day Earth from global warming.

On October 10th 2008, HANGRY&ANGRY's official Japanese MySpace opened. The page received over 100,000 views in just four days. At the beginning of November, the band were also promoted by a sustained "posterjack" campaign which saw the backstreets of Tokyo’s Harajuku district being plastered with advertising posters announcing the start of HANGRY&ANGRY's activities.

On November 19th, their first mini-album Kill Me Kiss Me indies CD was released simultaneously in Japan and the USA. The following week, HANGRY&ANGRY gave their first live performance at the MySpace Japan's 2nd Anniversary event, held at the Shibuya C.C. Lemon Hall.

In April 2009, HANGRY&ANGRY debuted overseas at Sakura-con in Seattle, Washington. The following July, the girls jetted to California, appearing at Anime Expo. That autumn, HANGRY&ANGRY hit the recording studio, and second album Sadistic Dance was on sale in Japan and Germany by November.

In May 2010, the duo embarked on their first overseas tour in Europe, performing in Germany, Finland, France and the UK. In October, HANGRY&ANGRY appeared at New York's Anime Festival. 2011 saw a minor change in the duo's name; now called HANGRY&ANGRY-f, the pair released the single Reconquista in July that year, along with their first live DVD.

After this, the pair fell silent. Despite no new activity since 2011, the band's official site is still online, and there has been no announcement of the group's dissolution. Given their roots in marketing, it seems unlikely that this quirky, futuristic duo will resurface anytime soon. Nevertheless, as long as the brand HANGRY&ANGRY-f still exists, hope springs eternal.
