Furuya Toru is widely known as a talented seiyuu, although he also sings and plays various musical instruments. He started voice acting at age 12, soon making his way to stardom. His most famous characters include such household names as Amuro Ray from "Mobile Suit Gundam", Tuxedo Kamen from "Sailor Moon", Pegasus Seiya from "Saint Seiya", Kyosuke Kasuga from "Kimagure Orange Road" and Yamcha from "Dragon Ball".

The successful young man touched the music business for the first time in the '70s-'80s by playing drums in a seiyuu band called Slapstick. Other members of the group were Nojima Akio, Furukawa Toshio, Mitsuya Yuji and Suzuoki Hirotaka, and together they released over 10 records, which have been lately re-released in modern CD format. After that Furuya also sang soundtrack songs while staying in character, and as such a more free music venture kept waiting for the perfect moment.

After getting in talks with avex trax, the time had arrived, and after preparations the finished mini album came out in spring 2008. The debut release, HEROES -to my treasure-, is a tribute to Japan's beloved heroes, the well known anime characters he lends his voice to, yet is aimed for even the general public. As a bonus track the CD presents a "Gundam" themed song, which he worked on with the admitted fan of the series, Gackt.
