Ling tosite sigure was formed in 2002 in Saitama by guitarist and vocalist Toru Kitajima (stage name TK), Masatoshi Nakano (stage name Pierre Nakano) on drums and vocalist and bassist Miyoko Nakamura (stage name 345.) TK also writes the music and the lyrics for the songs.

Ling tosite sigure started their activities in 2004, embarking on their first nation-wide tour. Soon thereafter, the band released a few demos, selling more than 2000 copies and taking the first place in High Line Charts CDR category. The same year they had many live performances in Japan where their popularity rapidly grew.

In 2005 Ling tosite sigure started their own label, Nakano Records, and released their first long-awaited album #4. At the beginning of 2006, they had an album-promoting tour with the final show held at Ikebukuro Shutou hall.

In April, the band went on their 3454123TOUR2006 tour around Japan, playing over 13 concerts. In July a new mini-album, Feeling Your UFO, was released and a month later the band went on the EXOTIC SUMMER FEELING 2006 tour. In November, they held another successful one-man tour titled Pegasus. The concerts of the tour were all held in the Tokyo-Nagoya-Osaka area and all the tickets to performances, including Shinjuku Loft, were sold out. At the end of the year the trio participated in the Countdown Japan 06/07 festival.

The following year in 2007 continued down the same path as the previous year with two successful tours with sold-out tickets. August marked the release of Ling tosite sigure's second album Inspiration is DEAD. Again, there was more touring and the band made their second annual appearance in the Countdown Japan 07/08 festival.

The year 2008 was very busy for Ling tosite sigure. In April, a new single Telecastic fake show was released along with a new video clip for the main song. The band participated in a few festivals and events, such as Fuji Rock Festival and Rising Sun Rock Festival, collaborated with 9mm Parabellum Bullet, and went on another tour. In December their single moment A rhythm was released. Already a composer and song-writer, TK also revealed his photographer‘s talent when he illustrated the art book of the single with photographs taken in the UK.

In 2009 the band released their third album just A moment and went on an album promoting tour called last A moment that finished at the famous, ZEPP Tokyo.

The popularity of the group continued to rise and 2010 marked the high point of their achievements so far. From the 2000-capacity ZEPP Tokyo, the band moved onto the 20 000-capacity Saitama Super Arena, in their home prefecture as the finale to the I Was Music tour. It has been a year that even took them abroad for the first time, playing in both London and Brighton in the UK. And just in case anyone hadn't heard of the trio yet, they released their fourth album, still a Sigure virgin? in September, which topped the Oricon album charts.

Over their 6 year career so far, Ling tosite sigure have enthralled and challenged their listeners. With more and more people falling for their charms, this is a band to watch.
