Sweet Vacation formed in 2007 with May as the vocalist and Daichi Hayakawa as sound producer and keyboardist. Traveling around the world looking for ways to make completely new pop music, Daichi met singer and student May in Bangkok, Thailand and was taken with her charming voice and sense of creativity.

After making some songs together, they put the songs on MySpace in August of 2007. Quickly gaining popularity, they made the MySpace house chart in November that year. Their first song, I feel so good, was selected to be the iTunes “weekly free download song," which led to more access to and downloads of Sweet Vacation's music. The song was also picked for the Yahoo Top Page, and they soon signed a contract with Victor Entertainment JVC.

On November 21 that year, they released their first mini-album, Do the Vacation. April of 2008 saw the release of another mini-album, More the Vacation!!, followed by a single in August. In addition to their releases in Japan, they also put out an album specifically for overseas sale entitled Kira Kira pop. It is available in Taiwan, Thailand and Korea.

2009 started out with the release of their single Sayonara My Days in February. On August 5, their first full album, pop save the world!!, was released in Japan, Thailand, Taiwan, South Korea, and on iTunes Music Store worldwide.

Their weekly English radio program "Sweet Vacation Radio" is available on podcast and YouTube. The title of the iPhone application is “Tokyo Date” and it is trilingual, in English, Japanese and Thai.
