Candy

Candy was born on April 14, 1989 in Hokkaido, the most northern of the Japanese main isles. During her elementary school years, her desire to sing suddenly awoke. To further her dreams, she started to take vocal and dance lessons.

In the year 2001, her strong singing talent caught the interest of music producer Yoda Haruo who also works with MISIA and subsequently met with her. However, it was only in 2003 that they worked on a demo tape and another two years later, in January, she debuted with her maxi-single Bye & Thanks under avex trax.

Inspired by this release and the success, she soon recorded her second single Promise, which came out in May and sounded pretty casual. In August of the same year, her third CD titled Stay Gold was released. With this release Candy performed at several radio and TV stations. From October to December she toured throughout Japan. Moreover, Candy ended the year 2005 with her participation at Amuse X'mas Week "Merry X'mas Party" supported by GyaO, on December 23.

In February of the next year Candy wrote the lyrics for another musician; for Kahara Tomomi's double A-side single Hana/Keep On Running Candy wrote the lyrics of Keep On Running. More lives followed and on July 7 she performed at the RxGxB Fantastic Live vol. 3, and several other one man events throughout the fall and winter.

During the year 2007, Candy performed one concert each month from March 12 to July 2 at Omotesando FAB. Her activities started to decrease afterwards, and there was only an anniversary single release, Happy Birthday, on April 14, 2008. Moreover, she ended her solo career and joined the pop rock group LOVERSSOUL instead. For the new band she changed her name to CHIHIRO. Since its formation, the duo is very active. Among numerous lives the group has also released eight items up until now. Their last release was a collaboration single between LOVERSSOUL and HIROKI of ORANGE RANGE on January 18, 2012.
