GUILD’s story started in 2006, when vocalist and lyricist RYUICHI, guitarist and main composer YOSHIHIRO and drummer KOHICHI, who previously played together in Mazick, were joined by bassist TAKUMA. The band began to play at local clubs and was soon discovered by indie label Zany Zap. GUILD then constantly toured for a couple of years, mastering their musical and performance skills.

The end of 2009 saw the release of their first single, the double A-side Burning Love / Shining Day. The year 2010 was especially productive as GUILD released four consecutive singles. In October they released their first full-length album, titled GUILDED, featuring 12 tracks; among them were both previously released songs as well as brand new material. Right after the release the band embarked for their first overseas tour—that year they visited several European countries: Germany, Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Austria, Poland, Latvia, Estonia, Ukraine and Belarus.

It seems that the first European tour inspired the band, and soon they announced a series of singles, which can be called “Four Seasons.” April 2011 saw the release of the maxi-single Spring EP 2011 ~La Primavera~ and GUILD’s first PV; the music video for Uso Janai was made in collaboration with label mates Golden Bomber. A summer maxi, titled Summer EP 2011 ~L'Estate~, came out in the middle of July and treated fans with another mini-film from the band. Autumn EP 2011 ~L'Autunno~, released in October, featured three full music videos. The productive year ended with the release of their first live DVD, titled Burning LIVE 2011 in Harajuku ASTRO HALL.

The year 2012 started with the release of a final single of the “season” series—Winter EP 2011 ~L'Inverno~ came out on January 25th. It’s worth mentioning that each single of the series were released in three editions. GUILD recorded their second full album, titled THE BEST GUILD, in May. A few months later they released their second live DVD, Burning LIVE 2012 at SHIBUYA O-WEST. In October a new single I'll be there for you will be released in three versions.

Fans can always look forward to new releases and lives because the band is full of new ideas, creativity and passion for experiments. Despite their relatively short career, GUILD have already proved they have something to amaze listeners.
