Tsuji Shion started her career by playing in clubs and due to her unique style quickly attracted the interest of the Japanese music scene. By the time she was seventeen, Shion had recorded three songs and was selling the CD on her own. This CD caused a great increase in her popularity and triggered numerous offers of contracts. The musician made a choice and signed with DefSTAR Records in April 2008, and after six months of preparing, she debuted with the single Candy kicks. The title song, also used as an ending for the anime series "Bleach", was played on 47 TV and radio stations. This track ensured her the first rank on Recochuku - the young artist chart.

In 2009, Shion released three singles: Sky chord ~ otona ni naru kimi e ~, M/elody and Hoshii mono, gaining more and more popularity. The title song from M/elody was used as an ending for the short anime series "Tokyo Magnitude 8.0."

In 2010 Shion’s first, long awaited album Catch! hit the stores, and the artist went on a brief tour around Japan. Less than a year after the album's release, Shion’s new single, Ai ga hoshii yo, appeared on shop shelves. Its title song was used in another anime series - "Soul Eater."
