N@H

For a short period of time, duo N@H seemed to keep Taku's dream from their previous group Heisei Ishin alive.

While it was already decided that Heisei Ishin would disband at the end of 2010, the sudden news of vocalist Taku (Heisei Ishin)’s passing in December of that year had taken a toll on the remaining members. However, guitarist yukkie and drummer rai took it upon themselves to form a new group: N@H (pronounce as: noah). yukkie took up singing as well while rai focused on DJ-ing and programming. The new duo held their first live at Shibuya REX on 11 December 2011 - the day after Taku’s birthday - and marked the start of a new beginning.

Like many visual kei groups, N@H has an unusual but intruguing concept. The band name is short for “nano humans” but is also a Biblical reference to Noah's Ark. The concept of this project is that “humans are made up of 65 million parts and in these are many challenges and suffering. Like with Noah's Ark, reading poetry and listening aids and eases the pain".

Over the years, N@H’s releases have been far and few as the two mainly focused on performing live. The duo debuted with a bang with a self-released mini-album, READY? on December 28th, 2011 and followed up with the single Persona the next summer.

N@H followed up with a second single, Hi wa mata nobori, bokura wo terasu, in December 2012, but seemingly keeping the spirit of Heisei Ishin in N@H’s work must have been stressful. While the two did continue performing live, the end was inevitable. N@H decided to put activities on hold and go on an indefinite hiatus after a final live at Ikebukuro EDGE on August 7th, 2013.

It was no more than a few months later that yukkie and rai popped up again in a new band. The two resumed their previous roles as only a guitarist and drummer respectively while maintaining a wild image and joined the newly formed GIGAMOUS, that only started activities in the beginning of October 2013.
