Formed in Tokyo in 2008, metalcore band FEAR FROM THE HATE has travelled a long way. The line-up consists of vocalist Lidy, bassist Hiro and guitarist Kouichi, who also handles programming.

FEAR FROM THE HATE were slow to start, originally containing just Kouichi and founding bassist Hiro. In 2009, they gained Lidy, followed in short order by guitarist Taro and drummer Tomoya. The band's first demo There is no reply, It was a worthless corpse / Sign of a ruin, of which 1100 copies were made, was sold exclusively at lives.

FEAR FROM THE HATE really began to gain momentum in 2010, when they were invited to play at Japan’s SCREAM OUT FES 2010 and GEKIROCK FES. In the wake of these festival appearances, recording commenced on their first mini-album Cursed Screamers For All The Frozen Tears, which was released independently in April. In November, guitarist Taro was replaced by Yu-taro.

In March 2011, they signed to Garimpeiro Records and just weeks later, their debut single was released. In May, they joined with many other artists to record A Wish to End the Tragedy V.A. album. Come fall, their first studio album Birthday of 12 Questions was released.

With their new album and change in musical style, FEAR AND THE HATE set out on a nationwide tour. Late 2012 saw a shakeup in the line-up, but the band were undaunted, releasing the mini album 1961 in January 2013. That year also saw the departure of drummer Osamu, and the release of single Alice on August 2nd, distributed in Europe via OKAMI Records.

2014 began on a high with the single Silverwalker, which went on sale January 15th. In July, bassist Sohei departed the band, prompting the return of co-founding member Hiro.

Despite their somewhat fluid line-up, FEAR AND THE HATE have thus far never failed to adapt to changing circumstances, and look set to endure for years to come.
