Faylan made her debut with
mind as Judgement, the opening song of the 2009 anime "CANAAN". She has been performing theme songs for several anime and video games, such as the "BLAZBLUE” series in 2013 and many more. Before her live performances in America at the
Lantis Festival in Las Vegas on January 16th and 17th at The Joint – Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, the singer speaks with JaME about her music.
We heard that your stage name "Faylan" was given to you by composer Noriyasu Agematsu. What does "Faylan" mean? What thoughts ran through your mind when you were first given that name?
Faylan: It means “To fly high and dance like the orchids.” I had no idea how to even read it when I heard it for the first time! (laughs)
You mentioned before that anime heroines who care for and protect the people they love inspire you to make music. Could you name a few of these anime heroines and tell us how they have influenced you?
Faylan:
Kio from "Mobile Suit Gundam AGE" and
Laguna from "BLAZBLUE". I was touched by their missions—to protect someone despite of their self-sacrifices.
What is music to you?
Faylan: As important as my life!
Please share with us some of the greatest delights and pains you have experienced in your career thus far.
Faylan: The biggest pleasure would be hearing the voices of all my fans. It sometimes frustrates me that the only way to express my thankful feeling is through singing, so that pushes me to perform as much as I can.
Which song of yours would you recommend to people who are new to your music? Why that song?
Faylan:
mind as Judgment and
BLUE BLAZE. Both of them have counting, which can heat audiences up at live concerts.
What are your thoughts on your upcoming performing at the Lantis Festival?
Faylan: I will perform to the fullest.
If you could visit any place in Las Vegas, where would that be? Why that place?
Faylan: I want to play casino games and watch some shows. I want to play hard and release my stress!
What are your plans for the future?
Faylan: I will start touring in April with my new album
