JaME is recruiting writers, translators and and beta-readers!
If you're interested in more than one genre and aspect of Japanese music, are interested to learn more, and want to work with others from different countries and cultures, then we want you!
We're currently looking for dedicated, responsible and trustworthy volunteers who are able to work efficiently and regularly to fill the following positions:
Writer (reviews)
Responsibilities:
- Write reviews of albums, singles etc. (source material may or may not be provided)
Requirements:
- Excellent command of the English language
- Knowledge of the Japanese language is a bonus
- Ability to adhere to strict deadlines
Writer (live reports)
Responsibilities:
- Attend concerts and write live reports (press passes are usually provided)
Requirements:
- Excellent command of the English language
- Knowledge of the Japanese language is a bonus
- Punctuality
- Ability to adhere to strict deadlines
Writer (news)
Responsibilities:
- Monitor official sources for new announcements and write news articles based on them
- Write news articles based on provided material
Requirements:
- Excellent command of the English language
- Knowledge of the Japanese language is a bonus
- Willingness to write news on a regular basis (at least three days per week)
Writer (artist files)
Responsibilities:
- Do research on various artists and write their artist profiles
- Update existing artist files
Requirements:
- Excellent command of the English language
- Knowledge of the Japanese language is a bonus
Beta-reader
Responsibilities:
- Ensure all articles are written in proper English before they're published on our website
Requirements:
- Excellent command of the English language
- Knowledge of the Japanese language is a bonus
- A keen eye for language errors
- Ability to do heavy editing where necessary
- Willingness to beta-read on a regular basis (at least two days per week)
- Efficiency
Translator
Responsibilities:
- Translate given material from Japanese to English, or vice versa
Requirements:
- Excellent command of the English and Japanese language
