Satsuki‘s new single ARTEMIS went on sale August 27th this year, coinciding with the start of his European tour ~ARTEMIS is Calling~EU Release Party~, during which he visited Austria, Greece, Belgium, Germany and France. The single is a digital release, but was available for purchase in physical format from all live performances during the aformentioned tour.

ARTEMIS starts off with the intro track CROSSOVER, where Satsuki spells out his name for us before the song turns into a more rock-oriented intrumental: the perfect lead-in for the single’s title track. ARTEMIS is a very melodic and catchy song, boasting an entertaining beat, a chorus that’s easy to remember, and a nice instrumental lead over to the guitar solo. The song rocks, but in a melodic way, which makes it very easy to listen to.

Following on from this is the ballad SELENE. A synth-heavy piano intro leads into dramatic guitar and drum play, and finally Satsuki‘s clear voice. This song has it all: the drama, the piano and the lyrics. Finally, there‘s DIANA, a track exclusive to the digital edition of the single. For this song, all rock influences have been left out and instead, we get an electronic party song, which feels a little out-of-step with the rest of the single. Still, considering that the concept behind this CD is the moon, it might evoke feelings of going off into space, So, no hard feelings.

All in all, this is a competent single in typical Satsuki style, and will have many people looking forward to his next album. In a recent interview with JaME, Satsuki revealed this is likely to be released in Spring 2016.
