For pop singer Crystal Kay, a long-held dream came true in summer 2015. For the first time, she could collaborate with pop idol Amuro Namie. The result was REVOLUTION, which was released as single on September 16th. The single entered the Oricon Weekly Single Charts at #6. But how does this first collaboration between these two experienced songstresses sound?
After just a few seconds, REVOLUTION turns out to be a powerful pop anthem of a catchy character. The voices of Crystal Kay and Amuro Namie harmonize together surprisingly well. The rousing lyrics and melodies invite the listener to sing along and dance. The second track, the dynamic Shooting Star, is also suitable for a night at the disco, although the R&B elements are a bit more dominant. hard to say, a song originally released in 2002, is given a new lease of life here – in this MSG version, the hard raps make way for a more balladesque arrangement, and the slight Caribbean flair invites you to relax.
The single also includes a remix of REVOLUTION. Compared with the original mix, the PKCZ® Remix sounds more funky and electronic, and features rap vocals from SWAY of DOBERMAN INFINITY. An instrumental version of the title track rounds out the release.
