Kazuki Kato held a one-man live show on April 29th at Tokyo’s Ebisu LIQUIDROOM in celebration of his major debut’s 10th anniversary. About 1800 fans gathered at his anniversary show. In fact, an additional performance was held from 2pm in order to accommodate eager fans because all the tickets for the 6.30pm show instantly sold out.
The 20 main songs on the set list were selected by fans’ votes. Although
Kato could not predict which songs fans would request he play during the show, he enjoyed entertaining his fans by performing the top 20 fan favorites in a rather unorthodox countdown style. He actually had to sing his signature closing number during the early part of the show, while also performing intense hard rock songs consecutively.
Shining Road ranked top, as it did in his major debut’s 5th anniversary show. During the encore,
Kato treated fans with his first live performances of
Harukoi and
Yumeobito, released on April 20th. “I have been able to celebrate my 10th anniversary thanks to your support. But it has been only 10 years, and I am still on a journey of my dream. Let’s continue to chase a dream together,”
Kato said to fans during the show. Fans applauded
Kato, who gave them two more hours of joyful time by playing a total of 22 songs.
Kato set up a donation box at the live venue in order to support Kumamoto and other prefectures in Kyushu which have been affected by earthquakes, and donated all proceeds of charity stickers as well. He will also have six shows during July in Nagoya, Osaka, and Tokyo at which he will perform all of the 80 more songs he has under the tour title
