Psycho le Cému held a one-man show titled Psycho in Wonderland – Fushigi no Kuni no Ayas at Tokyo’s Shinkiba Studio Coast on April 30th.

At the beginning of the show, the narrator welcomed fans to an amazing world beyond common sense. Then, the five main characters appeared: drummer YURA-SAMA as Platinum Emperor, guitarist Lida as Rabbit Soldier, bassist seek as Fortune Eggman, vocalist DAISHI as Mad Hunter Cat, and finally, guitarist AYA as AYAS. The show’s storyline followed AYAS’ attempts to find a way out of wonderland through encounters with the other mysterious characters. The only way to go back to a normal world was to cheer up the emperor, who could use his magic to make the return possible. However, the emperor had not smiled in the last 500 years since his daughter disappeared.

The show consisted of skits and live musical performances. The band first played MEGATRON –Upper ver.-. DAISHI led the song with his powerful vocals, while he also danced in sync with AYA and YURA-SAMA. Fans danced along with the band members under colorful stage lights. Lida also heated up the floor with his rap interlude. In the midst of their dance-rock music, YURA-SAMA, who is a certified aerobics instructor, cheerfully spoke to the fans, “Welcome to wonderland! We have a rabbit playing the guitar and an egg playing the bass!” He then asked fans to clap their hands and call Lida’s name as the guitarist went into an energetic solo. Rays of light from a big mirror ball on the ceiling enhanced the fantastic atmosphere. Party time continued as the band moved into their new single STAR TRAIN. Then, with all the members in position, the happy pop-rock song carried fans away. Fans waved their hands to the left and right during the song, and the lights of the glow sticks around their arms painted the venue in vivid colors.

Later, the band also showed off their more aggressive rock side. With heavy twin guitar riffs and a high-speed drum beat, LOVE IS DEAD started to play. DAISHI and Lida sang a melodious chorus part together, and their voices drew fans closer to the band. A huge ovation rose up when the three guitarists gathered at the center of the stage during AYA’s solo. “Are you enjoying our show? We have a lot of songs today. It’s been quite a while since we’ve played the next song,” DAISHI said as he introduced fans to BLUE AGAIN. His heartfelt vocals encouraged fans to keep dreaming. Lida’s ascending guitar melody combined with the uplifting beats of the drums and bass to fill the fans with even more dreamy feelings.

Then, the show went back to its skit part. AYAS met with Rabbit Soldier and Mad Hunter Cat, and they decided to visit Platinum Emperor’s palace to try to make him laugh. While the three were on the way to the palace, Fortune Eggman tried to make Platinum Emperor smile with his mysterious tricks. Fortune Eggman brought two sushi plates for “Sushian Roulette”, where one of the plates actually contained an extra amount of spicy wasabi. Platinum Emperor got an extra spicy piece of sushi, and he collapsed on the floor. The emperor’s nightmare continued as all of the characters gathered on the stage. Mad Hunter Cat brought YURA-SAMA’s favorite hat from the dressing room, and he cut it using scissors to make a musical note mark. Then, Fortune Eggman once again used his trickery to pull off YURA-SAMA’s underpants so he would not need to change them after the show. “Who wants YURA-SAMA’s pants!?” Fortune Eggman shouted before throwing them to the crowd. Fans burst into laughter watching the slapstick performance.

However, a surprise guest soon stole the spotlight. George from LADIESROOM joined the skit as Comedy Master. Fans’ amazed voices filled the venue at the sudden appearance of the Japanese rock legend. Comedy Master not only gave them a lesson about humor, but he also joined the band members’ attempt to make the emperor laugh. He handed a big harisen (slapping fan) to AYAS, and told her to smack him if his joke failed. And, his joke failed. AYAS smacked the band’s senior right in the face. Miraculously, that outrageous maneuver finally made the emperor laugh after 500 years. Finally, AYAS found her way back to the normal world, but she chose to stay in wonderland for a while to attend a big celebration.

Fantastic Fantasy created a spectacular view of a big Mexican wave in the venue. Fans held their towels up high and waved their arms during the song. The stream of non-stop entertainment continued with BLADE DANCE. Each of the band members took a turn on vocals, and they wowed the fans by dancing in unison like a boy band.

“It’s been a while since we’ve had a one-man show like this. We haven’t had the chance to play aggressive songs for a while, and we’ve been frustrated. Can you headbang!?” DAISHI stirred the fans up before 2020 blasted out from the stage. seek sang in his deep voice during his vocal interlude in the midst of the raging guitar sounds and relentless drum beat. The excitement continued with Last Emotion. DAISHI’s rap had the audience jumping around, and some excited fans dove to the front row in response to Lida’s sadistic guitar solo. Of course, the band also played the fans’ favorite rampaging song, Murderer Death Kill, and AYA shot a water gun at the audience during the performance. The band closed the show with Shibashi no wakare –Long Ver.-. DAISHI’s vocals were met with a huge singalong from the fans, and he shouted “I love you all!” in response.

During the encore, DAISHI delighted the fans by announcing Psycho le Cému’s nationwide summer tour. The band will be bringing back a popular past theme in a new way under the title Doppelganger ~Next Generations~. You can find more information about the tour schedule on Psycho le Cému's official website.

Then, the band played their latest digital release, Mirai Shounen x Mirai Shoujo. “The five of us are now able to inspire each other better than ever. I would like to move forward one day at a time to make our dream come true. We have not been able to achieve it yet, but we are leading good lives thanks to you guys,” DAISHI said. “This is my life song both in good times and hard times. This song is always playing in my heart when I face hardships.” DAISHI sang REMEMBRANCE soulfully. The fans joined his voice with a magnificent singalong, as if sharing in the band’s dream to one day have a live show at Nippon Budoukan.

At the end of the show, the band called George back onto the stage and they took group photos together with the fans.
