JaME's Covers Playlist

Covers are always an interesting phenomenon. Whether it's an artist paying a heartfelt tribute to a personal hero, friends putting fun spins on each other's works or even a bizarre new version that sounds absolutely nothing like the original, it's always fun to see musicians you love tackle well-known songs. When done well, a cover can introduce influential music from an earlier decade to younger fans, or even allow the appeal of a great song to cross through language and genre barriers.

For this playlist, members of our team have selected covers from a diverse mix of Japanese artists. You'll find everything from pop artists paying tribute to some of the country's biggest hits to punk and metalcore bands putting an aggressive twist on Western classics to even visual kei bands covering anime themes.
