Please introduce yourselves?

We are [band:fine] .We make music in Korea. We consist of three men – Lim Eun-Cheol (composing, lyrics writing, synth), Cho Jeung-Bin (vocal, bass) and Park Ji-Sup (vocal, guitar). We play simple experimental pop.

How was [band: fine] created? How did you meet?

Lim Eun Cheol and Cho Jeung Bin were classmates in music school, and met Park Ji-Sup by chance. We all felt like we belonged together, so we didn't think about each others' music ability, and just made the band together.

Can you tell us a fun fact about each member?

Park trained in the Navy for two years. In Korea, all men must do their military duty due to South Korea adopting the draft system. He was an army man, living in a ship, now being discharged from the Navy though.

Lim and Cho lived together since 2010, and will move to Park's house next month. So all the members will be living together. It might be tough...right?

What got you interested in music?

Well, we can't tell exactly when we first got interested in music. Like many people, we've enjoyed and listened to music since we were young, and we started playing our own music for ourselves.

There's one topic that all of members agree with, which is communication. We want to express something we can't express in
words or gestures. And that led us into music. We think of it like 'drawing a picture' sometimes.

Where do you draw inspiration to compose and perform music from?

From the imagination. There's lot of fiction. For example, we might put a lot of meaning in an apple, and put up some stories that we've experienced... then a few days later, that apple will be very special and we'll be writing a song about it. That's a very extreme example, but that's generally how we compose or perform music.

Your band has recently garnered some attention from overseas. What was your first reaction to this?

Our first reaction was "They really like us?" And we can't believe that we are doing an interview with a famous website from overseas, KoME!

We realize there's some attention from overseas because of KoME, so thanks a lot, KoME!

What are your favorite songs and why?

We love close, coffee or rainbow.... but we can say that we love all of our music. We can't choose just one of them. We put all of our passion into our songs, so which song could we hate?

But to choose one song in particular, it would be close. At that same time we made 19 songs.

Do you have a Youtube channel, or any similar site where overseas fans can listen to samples of your music?

Sorry, we are revising our songs now, so we're not on those sites yet. We want to show them in perfect quality. The new album may be released in March, with 5 or 6 songs, and we will promote those songs on soundcloud or youtube at that time. Please wait a little bit longer!

When do you feel most connected to your audience and fans?

We are really happy when we receive messages about our performances or album via SNS (facebook or twitter). Especially English messages from overseas. That makes us motivated, and we think, "Wow, we have to work harder..." And we want to always be able to say that you can get our songs in the near future.

Could you share your favorite concert memory?

We could say the latest concert because we are new. But lots of people stood in line to see us perform, even though the weather was very cold that day! We really appreciate them, and our crowd seemed very lovely!

What are your future aspirations?

We want to perform at Glastonbury! We don't know how long it will take... but that is our desire. If we are able to perform at Glastonbury, we can die on the stage.

Can you leave a final message to our readers?

Hello, Readers of KoME! We're very honored to introduce ourselves. We're [band:fine], who play music with passion in Korea.

We don't need anything, if you promote us, and persuade your friends, parents or lovers to listen to just one song. We really hope that you'll like our songs, and wish you happiness this winter.

KoME would like to thank [band: fine] for making this interview possible.
