MONORAL

MONORAL's newest single balances pop and rock while blending heartfelt and fierce vocals to give listeners a sample of the two different sounds that the band has combined and played with to create their own unique style.

Tuesday opens with an optimistic sounding mix of guitar chords, drum beats, and a pulsing bass line. The chorus of this feel-good tune is catchy, lyrics suggesting a positive, hopeful attitude. Ali's bass line is a constant force, driving the song along with Anis' beautifully sung English lyrics.

With a heavier instrumental intro Perfect Gold is more rock and roll, less pop-rock than Tuesday. Anis' vocals are rougher, showing off a more hard rock quality against growling guitar playing. Ali's bass line flows well, but is less noticeable, somehow subtle. This song doesn't have the same impact that Tuesday has, but is a fair secondary track on the single and a little something to rock out to.

MONORAL's first release of the year, packed with addictive melodies and smooth, deep vocals, was worth the wait. The band seems to be on the rise and, even if based on the title track alone, this single is a fantastic way to get started.
