Report of Uchusentai NOIZ's show in Kanazawa, Japan on May 6th.
The venue, already hot from the gathering audience was as full of energy as the crowd before a sports event. Girls kept themselves cool by wrapping towels around their necks while chatting as the house music maintained an exciting atmosphere. Suddenly, the lights went out, the curtain separating stage and the audience dropped to the floor and S@TT-ON's cheerful voice filled the venue first regaling the audience with funny episodes from the tour and then shouted "Kanazawa! Are you ready to fight!? Music start!"
The band members wore black costumes with their certain colors, S@TT-ON in yellow, KYO in blue, MASATO in orange, TAKEswiy in red, and ANGEL-TAKA in pink. As they appeared on stage they did their special poses. During the first two songs Ichigeki Hissatsu PoPs and Battle Capsule kara Ai wo komete, MASATO rapped with ANGEL-TAKA. Electro-pop sounds, hard drums, bass and catchy guitar melodies were well mixed into their music. The audience raised their fists and jumped along with the heavy music. As MASATO changed his microphone to guitar, B.B.B.(Beauty Beast Burst) started. The audience head banged to the roar of the guitar sounds, and the venue rapidly heated up as it was flooded with the sound of explosions.
"We are 5 soldiers coming far away in space. Tonight, we came to Kanazawa AZ HALL! Here we are, Uchusentai NOIZ!". ANGEL-TAKA said during his MC and revved fans saying, "Show your high spirits and beat me!" Fans were full of fighting spirit like they were challenging members on the stage. With a chorus of electro-pop Shounen Ningyo was played with ANGEL-TAKA singing beautifully and in the following ballad CRY, this beautiful singing greatly moved the audience. The new single White Canvas was introduced as "A new charm of Uchusentai NOIZ". Fans raised and waved their hands from side to side, and clapped to the fresh bright chorus and the venue was filled with this positive message and then joined in for PEOPLE NOTE and FROM SKYWALKER. In KISS, ANGEL-TAKA who had a glass of wine in his hand and a red rose balanced in his mouth, appeared on stage and danced sexily to the upbeat music as he sang. Another upbeat song, SPACE PIRATES(ch77.7)#2 followed and the audience with hands aloft swayed from side to side to the rhythm led by him.
After the drum solo of S@TT-ON, ANGEL-TAKA was a little bashful as he honestly spoke about 'Ichigo Ichie'- hope for world peace. In MERRY-GO-ROUND and CHROMOSOME SIX that followed, members and fans jumped together to the bright and cheerful melodies led by ANGEL-TAKA creating an electric atmosphere.
At this point, the 'Devil Switch' (the left nipple of ANGEL-TAKA) turned on. He shouted, "Go wild!" and the live went into its final burst. The hard and heavy songs of BOY, Igni+ioN and Thank you for the MUSIC made fans head bang so much that the floor shook! In the last song HARD ROMANTICERS, everyone had a pink towel and waved it together to the music.
Their ending theme started and KYO, MASATO, ANGEL-TAKA, TAKEswiy and S@TT-ON each struck their pose and left the stage. It wasn't long before the audience called for an encore. When the music by Michael Jackson started and members appeared on stage, they had all put on white costumes and white afro wigs! They announced the one-man live in Shibuya AX on July 15th and the new single release of BAD MUSIC FREAKS on July 19th. They then played their new single to start the encore. It was also announced that the fan club of Uchusentai NOIZ; 'MIRACLE ROCKET' was being formed, and that they would appear in the live 'KINGDOM ROCK SHOW' at Hibiya Yagai Daiongakudou on May 27th. In the tremendously poppy MIRACLE☆ROCKET G5, fans punched the air in time with the rhythm and the live ended finally with the hard tune of Typ;N which can only be explained as an explosion of guitar sounds.
ANGEL-TAKA's talk and performance was truly captivating and the characters of all the members are so original. Their music is a mix of bright pop melodies and hard heavy sounds and they play upbeat dance songs with double rap vocals. So many attractive performances were played on stage one after another. Moreover the live was their tour final and I felt a strong identification between the fans and the band members to bring the live together. 'Ichigo Ichie' originates from the words of Japanese tea ceremony, and it means 'a once-in-a-lifetime encounter'. Never again will you ever get the same people, in the same place and at the exact same time in the exact same way ever again. So everyone did their best to enjoy the now. Band members really did their best for the audience and the audience really felt that, making the live undoubtedly unforgettable.
