On Tuesday, September 23rd, the
Individual Fashion EXPO IV will take place at JCB Hall in Tokyo Dome City. Host
MARUIONE is inviting various JaME readers to this event, so if you are interested in both Japanese fashion and music, and are in Japan during this period, read on to find out more about the EXPO and how to win tickets for this unique event!
The
Individual Fashion EXPO was first held in October 2005 and was aimed at fashion designers across Japan who had a uniquely Japanese passion for styles such as gothic, lolita and punk. The 4th EXPO, held this year, will have more brands participating than ever before, with 21 cutting edge and iconic labels taking part.
During these four years, Japanese Individual Fashion - fashion that is not confined to what is conventionally cute or pretty, but strongly expresses one’s individuality instead - and visual kei music have become a sensation across the globe, especially in the west. The Individual Fashion EXPO IV will provide a place where fans of alternative fashion can come together to enjoy and celebrate their unique sense of style.

A major collection of Individual Fashion
21 brands representing distinctive Japanese styles that have caught the attention of the international community will be taking part in this event. In addition to professional models, readers of the cutting edge fashion magazine
KERA will also be gracing the catwalk.

Mini Gigs with a Dazzling Line-up of Artists
The glamor packed event will include a special mini gig by a band that is currently leading the Japanese visual kei music scene,
Plastic Tree, who enjoyed outstanding success with their concert last year at the world famous Budokan Arena. There will also be appearances by the band
jealkb, lead by a mysterious visual kei vocalist, and performances by
Kanon Wakeshima, a new artist produced by
Mana (formerly of
MALICE MIZER and currently of
Moi dix Mois) who made her debut this spring.
Next to that, many visual kei artists and TV stars will appear as models.
