BOUNTY

When Aoi and KAZUYA teamed up to form BOUNTY, their very first release was Coming brand new days off of their album Tribal. The song, true to its name, heralded the start of a great new band.

There is no intro to Coming brand new days; the song starts right off with the chorus. Aoi immediately impresses with his rich, cultured voice and shows his ability as a vocalist - his pitch is carefully controlled and the extended notes are held flawlessly. He is accompanied most prominently by synthesized violins, which contribute to the song's airy mood, and a quick tempo that breezes you along from beginning to end. During the verses, the violins are replaced by KAZUYA's delicate guitar picking, and it creates a muted, softer feeling. However, in the bridge he makes full use of the whammy bar to give the song a rock vibe.

The instrumental break is layered so that you'll find something new to appreciate each time you listen to it. The first time around, it's the ringing keyboard play and Aoi's echoed vocals that draw attention. Then the intricate drumming makes itself known before the bass comes forth to reveal it's been driving the melody the entire time.

The song ends the way it begins: quite abruptly, though on the last note of the chorus. However, the parting lyrics of "awaiting coming brand new days" suggest that this song is only the beginning, and it leaves you hoping that this is indeed the case.

Catchy and charismatic, Coming brand new days serves as the perfect introduction to BOUNTY, and it's worth checking out Tribal to get a better taste of the band's music
