LM.C in Finland

JaME had a short interview with LM.C after their European tour. Singer maya and guitarist Aiji were asked to answer with the first thing that came to their minds of the following words:


European tour:

maya: Awesome.

After the amusing interview, LM.C continued on to perform a live in Finland.

The air inside the sold out venue was full of excitement as the fans waited for LM.C to take the stage for the first time in Finland. Cheers from the audience grew louder as the intro began and band members started arriving on stage. Aiji and maya naturally received the most cheers and shouts of admiration. When each member had taken their place on stage, the show began.

The first song the audience got to hear was CHEMICAL KING-TWOON. The audience jumped along to the rhythm of the song and maya bounced around the stage energetically. Next in line was the impressive and entertaining Bell the CAT, which was followed by the more rough sounding and rap-like Galileo. It was a surprise to hear that maya's voice sounded very much the same live as it does on recordings. His voice was clean and pure, without any faults.

The concert then paused for a short MC. maya turned his back on the audience, took out a piece paper full of notes and started to speak in Finnish. His pronunciation of the difficult language was excellent and he made the audience laugh with his funny comments. maya repeated common Finnish words and phrases like "Moi!" (Hi!) and "Mitä kuuluu?" (How are you?) again and again with a smile on his face, and each one received a loud shout from the audience.

The cheery JOKER -my name is- continued the show and aroused the audience's mood. People jumped up and down and sang along, as did maya and the rest of the band. This was followed by *BOOST+BUSTERz*, giving the night a rough electronic vibe, which was continued with @FUNNY PHANTOM@.

The members of LM.C had a short break to drink water and tune their instruments, and then it was back to rocking with cosmology. The audience listened to the song with huge smiles on their faces. maya's voice fit wonderfully with both the song and the atmosphere. DENKI-MAN was dancing "the swim" during the song in the background, which made people laugh.

After this was another MC, and the audience got to hear another selection of Finnish phrases and they responded with shouts, bursts of laughter and smiles.

CRAZY A GO GO was next and the fans got the chance to shake their heads and jump until they were exhausted. The last chords of CRAZY A GO GO transformed into the beginning of OH MY JULIET, a huge fan favourite. The happy song raised the atmosphere of the concert to sky high altitudes and everyone sang along during the chorus. Z-MAN followed, keeping up the go-go mood. During METALLY, guitarist Aiji got the chance to outshine all the others. The guitar-dominated song was a strong addition to the cheery mood, and people shook their heads and jumped in time. Boon!! followed to soothe the racy atmosphere and maya made the audience sing along.

There was another MC and maya took time to introduce all the members of the band. He also made the audience shout out different phrases like "Mennään Muumimaahan!" ("Let's go to Muumi-Land!", a theme park situated in the southwest of Finland.) The audience danced along to the next song, Sentimental PIGgy Romance, which was followed by the wistful Yellow Beauty, during which maya's voice was even more beautiful than before.

maya spent another short while talking to the audience, and then the concert continued with 88. The mood of the song was very wistful, and most of the audience listened quietly. There was no time for sad moments as the mood was raised to the roof by little Fat Man boy. The fun continued with LIAR LIAR, and people followed the beat of the music with their fists and hand movements.

It was clear that maya wanted to interact with the Finnish audience as much as possible with yet another MC, and this was followed by the song everyone had been waiting for: ☆Rock the LM.C☆. The lyrics were known by almost every fan, and the song's chorus filled the whole venue with people's voices uniting to sing their hearts out. The atmosphere couldn't have been any better when the band left the stage waving goodbye.

The venue was immediately filled with cries of "Encore!" and "We want more!" and after some time there was some movement at the edge of the stage. The band members appeared on stage laughing and holding bottles in their hands. When everyone had taken their places, maya got the audience to lure DENKI-MAN to the front of the stage, where he challenged him to drink a bottle of beer in one go. DENKI-MAN succeeded and received cheers and applause from the audience, but this didn't convince maya, who handed him another bottle and demanded a second round. DENKI-MAN tried to decline, but due to the pressure from the audience and maya, he agreed cheerfully and drank another full bottle without stopping. This short side show ended with the starting notes of JOHN, and DENKI-MAN took his place at the drums. The second song of the encore was BOYS&GIRLS, and as the audience sang along, no one wanted the moment to end. After the song, the band seemed reluctant to leave the stage and they kept throwing picks and water bottles to the audience while smiling widely. They then left the stage, waving goodbye, and the Finnish audience applauded and shouted after them.
