Megamasso Live in Kanazawa AZ

Although it was supposed to be spring, it was a very cold day for Megamasso's Kanazawa performance OVER THE GLITTER!, which was part of their spring 2009 Tour.

The audience cheered and screamed when the three members Gou, with his hair gold just for this tour, Ryouhei, with his charming smile and Inzargi the great dancer appeared on the stage. With a cry of “Let’s jump, everyone! Are you ready!? Come on!" the live started energetically with the bright, happy song, Raiden Mushufushu. Fans raised their hands and jumped together. In Sweet Skin Like A Candy, cool, heavy bass sounds were played by Gou, and Inzargi danced rhythmically during the main melodies. When Ame gakkitai started with light electric sounds, everyone stepped side to side and high-clapped to the rhythm all together. Ryouhei scratched his guitar and their new song, Hadairo, started. The bittersweet love in the lyrics really made everyone's hearts flutter. “Go wild! Kanazawa!” Inzargi stirred the audience, then a hard song, Imomushi no nushi, started and the live heated up quickly. In the following METEO, fans did a monkey dance, and in Blue V Neck Japan, a fast drum beat exploded and Ryouhei showed off his skillful guitar playing. The band members and the audience headbanged wildly, so the live house became wild quite rapidly.

During the MC, the members talked about what 'glittered' for them at every live, the conversation inspired by the tour title OVER THE GLITTER!, and shared funny episodes about sightseeing in Kenrokuen (a famous Japanese garden in Kanazawa). Their stories evoked the audience’s laughter and gave the live a very warm feeling. In their new song, BLESS, which was released on March 25, the sweet voice of Inzargi resounded in the venue, and the bittersweet love in the lyrics made us feel a little pain that love can sometimes bring. The bright song Shizuka na hoshi, shizuka na hitobito started with gentle guitar sounds from Ryouhei, then Yoru, sakana, kaze, tsurarina followed. In the next song white,white, they expressed the unstable feeling of a girl who falls in love with a beautiful melody.

As the live moved to the second half, the energy stayed high. Junsuibaiyou started with heavy drum sounds, and fans danced led by Inzargi, and in Throne Angel everyone jumped all at once and shook the live house’s floor. “Let’s get wilder!” the band shouted, and in Sasukuwacchiranka, Inzargi stepped lightly and skillfully to the complicated rhythm. During Kikaikajin Madison no tomodachi, he danced like a robot. In the following Viper, Gou’s bass roared low and heavy, and Ryouhei psychedelic guitar playing ripped through the air. Under the flashing lights, members and fans headbanged all together, and everyone had beads of sweat on their faces. “Let’s go! This is the last!” the band announced. When the song title LIPS was introduced, fans screamed with joy. Everyone sang the melody and waved their hands to the catchy rhythm.

During the encore, members changed their costumes to black T-shirts and had light blue tour towels in their hands. Then, BULLET SONG started. “Go crazy!” Inzargi stirred everyone even more, and the hard songs - SUPERNOVA, then Furarako - were played. Members and fans headbanged and jumped everywhere, shaking the floor. “Last one guys! Let’s sing together!” Inzargi requested, and during Paradise Halo, singing from the audience rang filled the venue and seemed never to stop.

The music of Megamasso is very unique, with catchy melodies that make everyone want to sing them and lyrics that paint a mysterious fairytale-like world. It’s hard not to like them. Furthermore, each member has an attractive quality about them, both in looks and personality. The live turned out to be something that Kanazawa needed, warming everyone who went on a cold, cold spring day.
