the Underneath Live 2009 'EMBRACE'

A little after the scheduled starting time, the lights in the venue dimmed and an SE began to play over the speakers. When the band members appeared, fans who had patiently waited for their arrival shouted for joy and applauded, which sounded throughout the hall.

The first song was GEKKOH, which drove the crowd wild from the beginning. TAKA shouted out "TOKYO!", and the fans responded by pumping their fists in the air. TAKA showed his wide-ranging vocal abilities, and the guitar solo by TAL was impressive too. The fans were all enchanted by their amazing sounds. Soon after the following song, MARIE, began, the crowd started head banging. TAKA yelled out "TOKYO! Please enjoy it to the very last minute!" Two new songs followed, giving the crowd timt to cool down a little. TAKA sang softly as if he was talking to the crowd, and fans listened intently during the songs and they were clearly impressed. When the song ended, the fans called for the members again and again.

The next song, FALL, had a beautiful melody which surely remained in everyone’s mind. The guitarists MASATO and TAL came to the front of the stage and played while RYO joined in with his backing vocals. The concert was getting hotter and the crowd was all pumped up. During the following song, ALONE TOGETHER, the band members appeared on the stage bathed in light and the fans were all enthused by the band members' fabulous appearance. TAKA said to them: "Welcome to “EMBRACE! Thank you for coming out to see us. Girls! Boys! You must enjoy it! Put it up! Get crazy! Dance! TOKYO! ".The crowd responded with a shout.

MASATO and TAL's fast-paced guitar technique in the next song, which was also new, was amazing and the hall resounded with it. After that they played CHAIN and the excitement continued. The fans went wild and immediately responded by pumping their arms in the air. The synthesized sounds of the next new son'g melody gave it a fresh feel and this was followed by another new song, which started with MASAKI's drums and TAL's guitar. The sounds were very sophisticated, which made TAKA’s voice sound even better. The piano in DEEP was really impressive and the crowd clapped along in time and applauded loudly when it ended.

TAKA then introduced the next song: "We are recording now, and we could make a lot of wonderful songs. We were really looking forward today, because we could perform new songs for you guys. We made this song for someone who wants to start something new and who wants to change himself." This song was bright and poppy, with the stage lights changing in time to the music, and TAKA shouted "Thank you" when the it had finished. The band followed this with the song BRAVE NEW WORLD, which had a similar feel to it, and the fans pumped their fists and jumped. TAL started to play his guitar next to TAKA and the crowd was drawn into MASATO’s guitar solo.

The following song, FAT FATTY FUCKIN’ PIGS made the crowd wilder than ever. The band gave their best performance and started an enthusiastic call and response with the crowd. Without a doubt, that was the best time in their performance. TAL played while holding his guitar out to the fans and MASATO played a fantastic guitar solo. Their performances were really upbeat and it was clear that the fans enjoyed it. The next song, which was also new, was very intense. Even RYO came up to front of the stage as he played. After another new song, the band finished their performance with BITE THE BULLET. The audience jumped and pumped their fists and the hall shook with their excitement. TAKA shouted: "Thank you! We are the Underneath!" and the members left the stage. The live had been just perfect and the fans were still keen for more.

After the crowd called for encore, TAL, MASATO, MASAKI and RYO re-appeared wearing the T-shirts that were on sale at the show. TAL shouted: "Why don’t we say 'Underneath' instead of 'encore'? It’s way cooler, right?" TAKA came on stage wearing the same T-shirt and said: "Thank you for the encore. This T-shirt, isn’t it neat? There's not much time left, but we don’t want to leave yet. Now here we are! Let’s have some fun!" The crowd immediately responded by shouting and pumping their fists. It was clear that the fans were more than ready to enjoy the encore.

The first song of the encore was GETTING CLOSER. The fans raised their fists and their shouts sounded throughout the hall. MASATO came out to the front of the stage to play his guitar. TAKA told the crowd: "Thank you! We had so much fun. I think we’ll be able to announce our new tour schedule and a new song soon. I hope I can see you then." The last song was a great ballad, which had a hint of spring in the beautiful melody. TAKA sang gently, this tenderness a great contrast to the intensity of the other songs. The audience was really impressed and applauded this performance. TAKA shouted: "Thank you so much! I hope we can see you all again!" and the members left the stage under the appreciative cheers of the crowd.
