Janne Da Arc's Live 2005 ''Dearly''at Osaka-jo Hall 03.27 DVD is considered one of the best from band's releases.
In 2005 Janne Da Arc released a few live DVDs, one of which was Live 2005 ''Dearly'' at Osaka-jo Hall 03.27. It consists of two discs where fans can find, as the title indicates, the concert's recording from March 27 at Osaka-jo Hall. There are 27 tracks, so it's about three hours of excellent music. This DVD also contains such bonuses as audio comments from band's members and two documents - the first shows the group's preparation before the concert while the second presents the beginnings of Janne Da Arc's career.
The concert kicks off very spectacularly. In the beginning, only the gathered audience and a stage covered by curtains are visible. Flashing lights and music magnify the atmosphere of expectancy. Then curtain falls down, showing the band ready to play. Janne Da Arc starts the performance with the amazing Strange voice, which immediately creates an excellent feeling.
From the start, the musicians' great co-ordination and superb skills, which are perfectly audible due to very good sound, catch the viewers' attention. Members of JDA seem to behave like playing even the most complicated pieces are the easiest things in the world to do. Moreover, the editing is really mesmerizing. One of the best examples could be a moment with the curtain, which was shown at first from the audience's side, and then from the stage.
During this concert, the group presents a great selection of their songs - they play at least one from each album. Tracks from Arcadia dominate, but that's not a big surprise as it was Janne Da Arc's latest release at the time. However, there are ones from CHAOS MODE and Dearly as well. There were also two compositions from Joker, which had not been released yet when the concert took place. The performances of all the songs are really good, sometimes even better then those from the albums. Often, it sounds more vigorous, thanks to shuji's energetic drumbeat and yasu, who stands still only while singing one of the few ballad. During most of the show, he runs from one end of the stage to the other, but it doesn't disturb his singing at all.
The slower songs don't influence the concert's pace significantly because they are entwined with energetic, hard rock songs and are accompanied by vsuals shown on a big screen and other effects, such as the burning fire brands during kokoro no yukue. yasu also has a great rapport with the audience that is quite diversified. The vocalist often speaks to fans and invites them to play - to be part of the chorus, e.g. in Kiss Me or Freedom, and during process he performs a funny dance and expects that everybody will repeat it.
The most powerful moment of whole concert which definitely makes it worth watching is undeniably a fragment named Solo Part & Sessions, which contains shuji and you's solos. The drummer plays first, and his speed is impressive, but his performance becomes a bit tiresome at the end. The parts played by you, which are much shorter than shuji's, are marvelous - his skills enchant during the whole concert. Later, kiyo and ka-yu come, but unexpectedly, they don't present their solos. The group instead prepares for audience something much better, a sort of improve call and reply on their instruments; it was really an unforgettable performance.
The band plays three encores, five songs in total. During the MCs, yasu repeatedly thanks the audience for the wonderful atmosphere and even cries while singing Rainy ~ai no shirabe~ (New Vocal Edition). After the last song, the band takes their time saying goodbye to their fans. shuji threw about twenty drumsticks into the audience, and yasu, ka-yu and you take off their T-shirts and give them to fans.
Janne Da Arc's live DVD Live 2005 ''Dearly''at Osaka-jo Hall 03.27 is no doubt one of the best from band's releases. It can be recommended even to those who don't know the group's music yet - they wouldn't be bored, even for one second. During this concert, the skills and talent of JDA's members are clearly noticeable, and you'll find yourself amazed at their stunning display.
