With love across the ocean, pop princess Koda Kumi took another run and hoped that this single would be the desired stepping stone for her breakthrough. You truly feel her effort to get a foothold, even if the dreamed success didn't come until later. However, the single offers some interesting tracks.

The title song of the same name is a mid-tempo song, and it is influenced by funk. However, the refrain is really rocking! The rousing rhythm and the distorted electric guitar solo in the bridge make it immediately interesting. the meaning of peace isn't slow either, and because of its slightly kitschy arrangement, the song is very entertaining. Pretty interesting too are Koda’s falsetto vocals.

The typical disco-techno beat and a strong alienated vocals form the dub’s electro remix of So Into You. But the remix doesn't seem to be misplaced, and it also contains a very catchy tune. Strangely, the instrumental version of love across the ocean sounds more relaxing during the parts where normally the lyrics would be sung. On the following track, it's not worth mentioning the difference between it and the normal version.

It's hard to believe that Koda still needed almost a year to make her breakthrough after this single. Maybe love across the ocean was too mixed for the old days, or was found lacking because it doesn't have a slow ballad. We’ll never know, but you can say today that this single has earned a place in the collection of every pop fan.
